The Wedding of Natalie and Nathan
I met Natalie and Nathan through their friends Niki and Cheryl, who you may remember I photographed last year. As they were all in the same group of friends there were a lot of familiar faces there and it was just as much fun.
The wedding was held at Mere Court Hotel in Knutsford and its definitely somewhere I would recommend. The grounds were pretty and the hotel staff were courteous and helpful - an asset to any photographer. One member of staff, Vanessa, was very helpful and organised both guests and other staff to make the day run smoothly.
Natalie and Nathan also chose an unusual colour scheme - orange, brown and ivory - which was gorgeous! So vibrant and elegant. It definitely looked like it should have been in a magazine.
I am still in the process of editing the photos for Natalie and Nathan, but I have a feeling they may be checking to see if there are any of their photos on this blog, so I don't want to disappoint!
If you are reading this from your exotic honeymoon, I hope you're having a great time, and I hope some of these photos help bring the day back for you.

Helping out a friend
Angela and Philip didn't have me booked as their photographer, they were actually booked through Gary Skerratt, a very dear friend of mine and the person who got me going in wedding photography. However, the day before their wedding Gary rang me and asked if I was able to cover the last part of the wedding, which I was more than happy to do. I did take advantage though as they were getting married at Crewe Hall, and went along for the ceremony too!
Firstly, here's a shot of Gary in action:
Secondly, I'd like to thank both Gary for having the faith to have me cover one of his weddings (I idolise Gary, so this was a HUGE thing for me!), and also I'd like to thank Angela and Philip for trusting someone they'd never met before, and for welcoming me on the day.
On another note, Crewe Hall is a fantastic venue that is very well organised. I'd like to thank Simon Harding for helping keep things organised on the day and for also sorting me out a meal - anyone who provides me with some food when I'm on a wedding is someone worth their weight in gold! The Wedding of Rachel and Dylan
Rachel and Dylan got married at The Grosvenor Pulford Hotel, and were lucky enough to have the weather break so they could get married in the gazebo outside. It was a lovely day and as always, their friends and family were a joy to work with. Thank you very much for inviting me to photograph your special day.
p.s. Some of you may remember that the wedding of Andrea and Ben was also held at The Grosvenor Hotel last June. Labels: Wedding

Arriving in style
Now most people get invited to a wedding and expect the bride to arrive in style, either in a limo or classic car - but not at the wedding of Lynda and Gary, which took place at Peckforton Castle. Far from it! Gary decided he was going to arrive by helicopter - yes, helicopter!!
Unfortunately I'm afraid of heights and helicopters, but was determined that we were going to get shots from the helicopter, especially some nice aeriel shots of the castle, so I got Richard, my assistant on the case and he did a fantastic job of capturing the journey to the castle.
The helicopter wasn't the only thing that had their guests surprised - Lynda and Gary also secretly hired The Three Waiters to perform their routine during the meal. I have never heard anything like them, they were fantastic! The act was amazing and the singing was out of this world - most of the lady guests (as I did!) had a tear in their eye at the beauty of their voices. I would certainly recommend them to anyone.
There was also a caricaturist doing the rounds, as well as a table magician.
Lynda and Gary's wedding was definitely one that I will remember throughout my career as being both eccentric and elegant. Gary and Lynda were a brilliant couple to work with, as were their friends and family, as they were such genuine and kind people. Thank you for inviting us to photograph your wedding, we truly had a fantastic time!

The Wedding of Sara and Eric
Sara and Eric got married on the 16th May at Hunter's Lodge in Crewe. Luckily the weather held out and, although it was cold, we were able to get outside for all the formals and some fun photos with Sara and Eric.
Now I admire a bride who wasn't bothered about her dress getting a bit mucky for the sake of a good photo and a bit of a giggle, and Sara was definitely up for that. We took advantage and got her on the swings!
We also had a bit of fun whilst Sara was walking down to the ceremony - the garter decided to make a run for it!! So here's a bit of an action sequence!
All in all it was a great day, a lovely location and a lovely couple. Congratulations to you both!

So in love!
On Friday the 18th I was privileged enough to photograph the wedding of Louise and Nick, who just shone with the love for one another, it was made such a beautiful day because of their emotions, even with the freezing cold and blustery weather! They were even brave enough to get out onto the golf course at Portal Golf in Tarporley to have some romantic shots done! Louise had to keep Nick's jacket on the whole time, but we managed it, even in a bunker - it was helped however by the fact that we were lent a golf buggy by the hotel! Congratulations Louise and Nick, you are such a lovely couple and so great to work with!

First weddings of the year
This weekend marked the start of our wedding season with two weddings - not too bad seeing as it was less than six weeks ago that Spencer was born!
Our first wedding took place on Friday the 11th at Carden Park. We were very lucky with the weather, although it was a bit cold, however guests were very obliging and came outside for group photos before retreating back inside to warm up at the bar!
The bride and groom, Lisa and Jason were fantastic to work with as were their bridesmaids and groomsmen. We hope to have their photos live on the website by the beginning of May. Our second wedding took place on Saturday the 12th at Thornton Hall Hotel, (where Sarah and Andy also celebrated their wedding) and our couple Catherine and Lee were also fantastic to work with. Catherine seemed very nervous at first but her first class bridesmaids soon got everything organised and the day went without a hitch. Once again, apart from being cold, we were lucky with the weather and Catherine and Lee even managed to get the outside wedding they wanted.
Next weekend will be the wedding of Louise and Nick and we really can't wait! Keep checking back here to see our favourites from their day. Labels: Wedding

Last wedding of the year
On the 17th November we had our last wedding of the year with Sally and Ryan. We were worried about the weather, hence we ordered two very large white umbrellas just in case we needed to keep Sally's dress dry in rain. However, the rain held off and apart from being bitterly cold, the day was stunning!!
It was nice to end this year on such a nice note, Sally had the most elegant dress (which she luckily gets to wear again to another party to celebrate the wedding after they return from honeymoon!) and it was very evident how in love this couple were!!
Here are our favourite photographs from the day so far.

I would also like to thank Ryan and Sally, as well as their families, who looked after me on the day and kept making sure that me and my bump were comfortable, well nourished and watered all day!!I would also like to thank Andrew, the manager at Ye Olde Vicarage Hotel, for providing me with a fantastic meal that kept me going, and keeping me up to date with proceedings so I could take a breather and rest my bump!Labels: Wedding

A disasterous but fun weekend!
I had two weddings this last weekend. On Friday I was to head down to Derby for the wedding of Penny and Mark. The sun was shining and it was promising to be a stunning day. That was until the car I was driving cut out half way across a main road with a lorry thundering towards me! Luckily the lorry was able to miss me by going down a slip road. Shaken but not hurt all I could think about was getting to the wedding (a dedicated professional!) and managed to borrow a car.
I got to Penny's mum's house with no problems, and got Penny getting into her stunning dress. It was one of the most laid-back weddings I've been to. Unfortunately it was the calm before the storm. When leaving to get to the ceremony, the car I had borrowed decided not to start! It was dead to the world. So I quickly jumped a lift with a guest and after getting lost, we got to the ceremony just before Penny.
The rest of the day was beautiful, and Mark and Penny were definitely the calmest couple I've had the pleasure of photographing. I was even invited to sit at the top table and have afternoon tea with all the guests.
Here's my favourite from the day:
Then on Sunday I had the wedding of Emma and Lee. The day started off with horrible rain clouds, but as we walked out of the ceremony the sun shone through and it was an absolutely gorgeous day. It was definitely helped by the fact that Emma and Lee were such a good looking couple and were up to having loads of shots of just them.
This is my favourite shot from their wedding, but it was a difficult choice as there were so many gorgeous photos of them both.
I would like to thank Penny and Mark for not getting worried on the day by their photographer obviously jinxing every car she stepped in, and for inviting me into their special day. I also look forward to the trash the dress session Penny has in mind when they get back from honeymoon. Watch this space!

Also, remember to trash your dress!
Please don't forget our offer to do free trash the dress sessions...these sessions are designed so that brides to be (in borrowed or charity shop bought dresses) or brides after their wedding, can go out and enjoy a day's photo shoot without the fear of ruining their dress.
We are looking for brides that really want to let loose and have no worries about their dress, as they feel they really won't be needing it again! The more outrageous the idea the better. We have already had an idea from one bride about bodyboarding and having a full photo shoot on the beach, as it is an important place for her and her soon to be husband.
So, do you have a fun idea? Climbing trees, lying in a field of poppies, riding your horse, running along a beach and into the surf? Whatever you like, we really want to have some fun with our brides and get those photographs you wouldn't normally get.
Come on - think outside the box!!

A day fit for a Queen
On the 2nd of March we were in Chester photographing the wedding of Sorcha and Matt at the Queen Hotel.
It was an absolutely beautiful day and the Hotel was stunning! We have already put together an album to show future clients as we had so much fun, and it is one of the most beautiful we have photographed so far.
I would like to personally thank Sorcha and Matt for being such a lovely couple to work with, and for even inviting me to help myself to the very tastey buffet.
